After a vintage porno video, seemingly shot on Cape Town's iconic Lion's Head emerged over the weekend, people have taken to social media with humorous quips, including a flood of new reasons to visit Cape Town.

The shocking film first came to light when hilarious Twitter parody account, @LionsheadCPT, shared a still from the video on Sunday, with the caption: “Someone actually made a porno up here. Whaaaat”, followed on Monday morning by: “I feel dirty.”

Within no time, after Channel24 shared the link of the video, Lion's Head's various comical reactions had gone viral and saw Capetonians coming out in droves to have their two cents.

Some even suggested a new tourism slogan for Cape Town, saying:

'New Tourism Ads: Cape Town - Come Visit.'

Others included "Easy come, easy go" as well as "I'm sure they soon found themselves between a rock and a hard place" but it was this response that made us giggle most - "Some fynbos on show here".

While the Twitterverse wasn't specifically using the porno to punt Cape Town as a destination, there were a few witty jibes worth mentioning:

Bedford Shooting - Images & Eyewitness accounts (graphic images)

These are some images of the shooting scenes at Bradford Shopping Centre today. Please note they are graphic and not for sensitive viewers.

Three customers, two security guards and two suspects were injured during the shooting. All have been taken to hospital," said spokeswoman Lt Col Katlego Mogale.

Security guards were collecting cash inside the centre when they were confronted by a group of armed men, she said.

"A shooting ensued between them, with some customers caught in the crossfire. An undisclosed mount of money was taken by some of the suspects."

Eyewitness statements: 

“I can’t even stand right now I am so scared. We heard shots firing all over the place and when we went out, we saw people lying down. They chased us away, they said the robbers were still around. I’ve only seen that in the movies, not in real life.”

One witness said he tried to run away. “As I was taking the escalator, I heard two shots. I ran back and took the video, that’s when another two shots went off.”

“As I came out of the toilet I just saw people firing guns. A lady came past me and she was shot in the crossfire. Three people were shot. I think it was a robbery.”

Earlier a woman said she hid under a flight of stairs. "They have shot people. There’s a huge gang. I don’t know what they robbed but there’s one still inside here. There are still gun shots going off. It’s chaos.”

Sweet Justice for families in Cape Town

An amount of R293,013 has been reimbursed to five mothers who were robbed of their maintenance money by Rene Borchjes, a 35 year old justice official, with the refunded amounts coming straight from Rene's very own pension fund.

Last year it was discovered that Rene was diverting maintenance money paid from ex-husbands and former partners, directly into her own bank account leaving families in financial distress.

In court on Thursday some mothers wept while they told Hishaam Mohamed, the Regional Justice Department head, how they had to borrow money from their friends and neighbours just to get to the court house to find out what was happening with their money.

Some of the defrauded mothers have spent nearly 3 years trying to find out what happened with one mother sadly passing away from motor neuron disease before seeing a cent.

In addition to Rene Borchjes having her pension attached she will serve a 6 year prision sentence.

Sandstorm in Bloem

Susan Van der Westhuizen was in Bloemfontein on Thursday and captured these amazing images.

The blankets of sand and dust were caused by thunderstorms which happened about 70km's west of the city.

Needless to say the residents of Bloemfontein now have limited visibility and weeks of dusting ahead of them!
